Michael Goff -

Michael was born in 1957 in Kashmir India, moving to Australia at the age of ten. He has been painting for as long as he can remember; his mother being one of the main influences in his early artistic development. At the age of fourteen he learnt to paint from Carl Anderson, who taught him tonal oil painting. About a year and a half later he gave up art classes to finish his schooling. The attraction to his artistic side never diminished for Michael. Every opportunity was spent painting, going to art shows, reading books on art and watching demonstrations, learning from as many artists as possible. It wasn’t until 1989, when Michael’s hobby became more of a business and he made the decision to become a professional artist.

Julia Lack - Acrylic

Julia studied for a Diploma in Fine Art and has resumed her career after marriage and two children. With a love for vibrant colours, she started painting at a very early age. After completing her education she then decided to travel, exploring Central and Northern Australia to gain a feeling for and connection to the land. Her “Tracker” series combined bold colours and found objects which captured the essence of the land. Overseas travel took her to Canada, her birthplace, where she reconnected with people from her early childhood. Now, with her children at a more manageable age, she has more time to devote to her art and is exploring new areas using acrylics in abstract and semi-realist form.

Malcolm Beattie - Watercolour and Oil

A professional artist, Malcolm places great emphasis on the composition and content of a subject. Combined with sound draftsmanship and an understanding of tonal contrasts and colour, his paintings are both visually interesting and straightforward statements of everyday places and things around him. His paintings depict the life and activity of his environment. His watercolours are characterized by a purity of colour and a straightforward arrangement of tonal values. This emphasizes the light, which together with a broad approach to detail and careful composition make them stand out from the crowd. Malcolm is a regular contributor to the Australian Artist Magazine and the International Art Magazine and published two books on the art of watercolour. Malcolm is now producing wonderful Oils of European Villages, places we have all heard of or been to.
